Kaleidoscope Care
Make staying at home the better choice

Our staff are drawn from all age groups.

The profile in December 2006 revealed:

7% of staff were under 25 years old    42% were between 25 and 44 years old     42% were between 45 and 59 years old    and some of our best carers at 60+ were 12%.   Most are female, but we do employ men where people prefer or are happy to receive visits from them

We are on target for 50% plus NVQ 2 and above for our staff and now have a good showing of NVQ3 qualified staff members.  In line with growing professional requirements, in 2007, we are pressing on with NVQ2 training.  Although NVQs are often an unknown quantity for some older people, they are a genuine and useful system and we wholeheartedly recommend and encourage our staff to use them as part of their personal development.

Several more staff are to start NVQ3 training and two managers are studying for The Registered Managers Award.

Our pay rates and expenses arrangements are geared to retain qualified staff.  Although lower than we would wish, they compare well with industry rates and we intend to ensure this stays the case.

Our staff have shown exceptional loyalty and dedication over the years.  Without this, we could not survive and prosper
